Spaces

i was in the left of the womb. amy was on the right. or maybe it was the other way round, i can't remember. i sat opposite mum at the dinner table, amy was to my right. opposite dad. we take it in turns to sit in the front seat. i had the bottom bunk. amy the top. at gran's I sat in the arm chair. amy sat on the couch. that still happens at nana's. i live on on the little isle. amy lives on the big one. two different continents. negotiating the space between us became more complex with age. it involves new methods, it involves new people, it involves new us.
